Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends as necessary


Job Summary: The Title IV-E Administrator provides overall daily administration and development of the Title IV-E Program for the University of Alabama. Serves as the liaison between the University of Alabama, DHR, and all subcontractors for all activities associated with the Title IV-E Program. Oversees the administration of the Title IV-E Stipend Program, the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training and Simulation Program, and multiple training opportunities for existing child welfare workers. Provides direct and in direct supervision to all staff.


Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama School of Social Work, under contract with DHR, administers the Title IV-E Program. The Title IV-E Program supports the education of prospective child welfare workers and provides continuing educational opportunities for existing child welfare workers. It includes the Stipend Program, the Child Welfare Training and Simulation Program, and hosting or facilitating multiple conferences, workshops, and additional training opportunities for current child welfare practitioners. Provides and administers subcontracts with 15+ universities and/or colleges with an accredited social work program. Maintains the Alabama Higher Education Consortium on Child Welfare (AHECCW) group.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Master of Social Work (MSW) and six (6) years of experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state and work irregular hours as needed. Ability to conduct community and agency meetings. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to carry out multiple tasks related to Title IV-E activities including teaching and training. Strong computer skills (excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills. Strong conflict resolution skills. Ability to provide direct supervision for program coordinators with competing demands while maintaining a healthy work environment. Ability to effectively collaborate in a data-driven, academic environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to think “big picture” in future workforce development endeavors while identifying and addressing specific details.


Preferred Qualifications: Alabama Social Work License. Five (5) years of experience in Public Child Welfare.
