Director, Engineering & Operations

The Director, Engineering & Operations will provide strategic technical leadership and operational governance across multiple underground mining sites. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will drive consistent engineering standards, integrated planning, and operational excellence while supporting long-term value creation. You will combine deep mining engineering expertise with an operational mindset to provide practical guidance across areas including mine planning, rock mechanics, ventilation, drilling, and blasting. The role also plays an important part in annual budgeting, life-of-mine planning, reserve stewardship, and corporate growth initiatives. You will build strong relationships with site leaders, corporate teams, and technical specialists while promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced mining professional who can move effectively between strategic corporate priorities and site-level operational needs.

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering; postgraduate education is considered an asset.
• P.Eng. designation or equivalent professional engineering qualification and membership in a recognized professional organization.
• 10+ years of progressive mining engineering and operations leadership experience, with significant expertise in underground mining.
• Strong technical knowledge of rock mechanics and ground control, ventilation, mine planning, drilling, blasting, operational reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience with annual budgeting, life-of-mine planning, mineral reserve updates, and technical governance across mining operations.
• Experience leading or supporting major engineering initiatives with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements within the mining industry.
• Experience working with corporate teams on technical reviews, growth initiatives, due diligence, M&A, or integration activities is an asset.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with practical operational judgment and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with the confidence to translate complex technical information into clear recommendations for senior leaders and operational teams.
• Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing capabilities.
• Adaptability, accountability, and the ability to balance long-term technical priorities with day-to-day operational realities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
• Must be legally permitted to work in Canada without additional sponsorship.
