The role may also support patient inquiries through a financial services call center.
Success requires strong communication, attention to detail, healthcare financial knowledge, and a consistent commitment to exceeding patient expectations.
This is a full-time remote opportunity working primarily during daytime-to-evening hours.

Provide financial counseling to patients both virtually and through other available service channels.

Explain healthcare payment options, Medicaid eligibility requirements, financial assistance programs, and applicable self-pay responsibilities.

Prepare self-pay liability price estimates when required.

Analyze patient accounts to understand outstanding financial obligations and identify appropriate resolution strategies.

Develop and implement action plans that educate patients and guarantors about their financial responsibilities and available options.

Assist patients in navigating billing, payment, and financial assistance processes with professionalism and empathy.

Respond to patient inquiries through the Patient Financial Services call center as needed.

Apply knowledge of registration, coding, insurance billing, payment methodologies, and self-pay collections to support accurate account resolution.

Maintain a strong customer-service orientation, consistently seeking to meet or exceed patient expectations.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the broader working environment.
Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant experience in financial counseling, self-pay collections, call center operations, billing, healthcare, or a related field.

Working knowledge of healthcare registration, coding, insurance billing, payment processes, and self-pay collections.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly, respectfully, and compassionately.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when reviewing patient accounts and determining appropriate next steps.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage financial information accurately.

Ability to educate patients and guarantors about complex financial topics in an accessible manner.

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a broader team.

Coursework in accounting, business, communications, or a related discipline is beneficial.

Ability to work a day-to-evening rotation as required.
