This remote contract role focuses on supporting and optimizing Workday Time Tracking and Absence solutions across a growing organization.
You’ll help translate HR and payroll requirements into scalable system configurations that accurately reflect evolving policies.
The role combines hands-on Workday configuration, troubleshooting, testing, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
You’ll contribute to worldwide implementation projects and help ensure new plans and configuration changes are delivered smoothly.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, and People Technology teams, you’ll help improve system functionality and the employee experience.
You’ll also provide guidance on Workday releases and emerging features while supporting audit and reporting requirements.
The initial contract is expected to run from September 28, 2026 through January 31, 2027, with potential for extension.

Support the implementation of new Workday Absence and Time Tracking plans and related global projects.

Partner with HR and Payroll stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into effective Workday configurations.

Configure time-off and absence plans, accrual rules, time-tracking rules, validations, work schedules, calendars, time entry, approvals, and exceptions.

Support configuration changes through testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live readiness activities.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Workday Absence and Time Tracking configuration.

Analyze system behavior and recommend configuration improvements that align with business policies and operational requirements.

Provide guidance on Workday releases and support the adoption of relevant new functionality.

Support reporting, compliance, and audit requirements related to Time and Absence.

Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, People Technology, and IT stakeholders to ensure effective system outcomes.

Help ensure Time and Absence solutions can scale with evolving organizational needs and global policies.
Requirements

3–5 years of hands-on experience working with Workday Absence and Time Tracking.

Workday certification in Absence and/or Time Tracking is preferred.

Strong understanding of global time-tracking requirements and leave/absence policy design.

Demonstrated experience configuring Workday Time and Absence functionality, including complex accrual rules, validations, schedules, approvals, and time-entry processes.

Experience supporting integrations between Time and Absence and payroll or scheduling systems is preferred.

Strong understanding of how HR and payroll business requirements translate into Workday configuration.

Experience participating in testing, UAT, implementation, and go-live activities.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate configuration issues and develop practical solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Payroll, People Technology, and IT stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, project-based environment.
