Primary Location: United States (US) – TX – Austin Function: Technology Title: Operations Engineer - 2026011 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As an Operations Engineer for John Deere in Austin, TX, you will: * Design and implement new features/code to improve the performance and capabilities of the software application; * Participate in discussions/decisions regarding future software engineering direction and evaluation, prioritization, and elimination of technical debt; * Support, evaluate, and continuously improve technology and business processes to maintain alignment with business plans; * Provide expertise to address complex and crucial technical problems concerning the software application's functioning; * Develop and maintain strategic relationships within and other departments and functional operations and interacts with business contacts; * Participate in on-call rotation. * Up to 20% domestic travel required to meet with the rest of the team for team meetings and other activities. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. 75% remote work allowed. What Skills You Need * 2 years of experience in develop Python and TypeScript scripts to process manufacturing and financial datasets for cost analysis, forecasting and reporting. Integrate with AWS services to collect usage metrics, schedule and automate batch jobs, and generate operational notifications * 2 years of experience in design and optimize data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks to process high-volume billing datasets. Implement delta lake schema design, create complex data transformation queries, perform partition optimization, and orchestrate pipelines, while implementing cloud cost dashboards and an automated stakeholder notification system to reduce infrastructure spend * 2 years of experience in architecting secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines using both GitHub Actions and Terraform for all Infra as Code deployments. Implement version-controlled infrastructure and environment configuration management * 2 years of experience in develop and maintain dashboards and advanced search queries in Elasticsearch and Datadog to support real-time monitoring of production applications and infrastructure. Configure log ingestion, build visualizations and alerts, and implement anomaly detection and synthetic monitoring to proactively identify system and performance issues * 1 year of hands-on experience with Elasticsearch supporting and maintaining clusters, nodes and indexes. Experience with index creation, shard allocation, index life cycle management and performance tuning. Design index mappings and optimize queries to improve search performance, storage efficiency, and reliability of large-scale log and metrics data * 1 year of experience in install, Configure and Manage Elasticsearch clusters and nodes. Monitor Elasticsearch performance and availability used Kibana or Grafana. Implement security policies for authentication and authorization. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cluster health and node health * 2 years of experience in migrate legacy scripts and manual workflows to automated cloud-based processes. Develop integrations with internal and external APIs to retrieve and process operational and financial data for reporting pipelines * 1 year of experience in configure and maintain cloud networking in AWS and Azure to create stable and scalable infrastructure, including but not limited to VPC, subnets, protocols and encryption. Experience in troubleshooting networking issues and connectivity Education/Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Technology or related field plus 2 years related experience.
