Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois - Milan Function: Environment, Health, Safety (CA) Title: Safety Manager- NA PDC - 120817 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Safety Manager for John Deere NAPDC located in Milan, IL, you will be: * Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction. * Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. * Establish and manage processes for periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action assurance. * Lead a team of safety, ergonomic and occupational health professionals. VISA Sponsorship is NOT Available for this position. ## What Skills You Need * 5 or more years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety profession in a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents. * Knowledge of governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles, with the ability to apply to workplace environments. * Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. * Understanding of occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic principles. * Knowledge of workers compensation laws and regulations. * Ability to travel domestically up to 25%. ## What Makes you Standout * Knowledge of warehouse operations & manufacturing processes. * Team leadership experience in a collaborative working environment. * Proven history of delivering sustainable safety improvements. * Experience working with collective bargaining units. * Masters degree in a Science or Business Administration discipline. * Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation. ## Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: * Bachelors degree in Occupational Health Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
