Responsibilities
~1 min readReporting to the GC/MS Group Lead, the candidate will support the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing and regulatory submission for JUUL Labs. The GC/MS Scientist is a hands-on, laboratory-based role in Durham, NC that will be responsible in helping to test products for regulatory submissions at Juul Labs. The scientist is highly motivated, nimble at navigating complex challenges, a skilled multitasker, is adaptable and works effectively in a fast-paced environment and works collaboratively with the teams at Juul Labs.
- →Perform routine and non-routine analysis on nicotine containing products by GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- →Support method development and validation of test methods using GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- →Perform routine maintenance on analytical instrumentation.
- →Review and report data generated by GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- →Write and review scientific documents in a timely manner. (SOPs, VOPs, and Work Instructions).
- →Manage the regulatory testing data and documents systematically in a highly organized fashion.
- →Perform other related duties as assigned.
A successful GC/MS Scientist will be able to successfully complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. They need to be readily adaptable to change while following established standard operating procedures.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 5 years of experience with chromatography-mass spectrometry-based techniques.
- Proficiency with chromatography and mass spectrometry data analysis software such as MassHunter.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise written documents.
- Ability to communicate issues in a succinct and logical manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High motivation and flexibility.
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment such as ISO 17025 is preferred but not required.
- ENDS or nicotine-related products experience is preferred but not required.
- BA/BS in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related fields with a focus in GC/MS and GC/MS/MS.
