About This Role
We are seeking a high potential, results-oriented, Senior Accountant to perform financial accounting activities in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP). This position will oversee accounting activities for headquarters, including but not limited to: lease accounting under ASC 842, external debt under ASC 470, derivatives under ASC 815, consolidation of monthly reporting deliverables and review of balance sheet. Responsible for developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) to control financial resources and compliance with regulations, laws, and reporting activities.
Prepares, examines, and conforms to procedures for general ledger preparation and project accounting activities.
Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
Develops and documents accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.
Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations in order to accurately represent financial standing.
Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.
Leads small scale projects.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years’ Accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or MBA
CPA or CMA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Acute attention to detail
Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Hyperion Financial Management system knowledge a plus
Candidate must be analytical and must have the ability to think critically
