THE OPPORTUNITY
KRAFTON Americas is seeking a Senior Director of Publishing Strategy, North America to join the North American Publishing Services organization. Reporting to the Head of Division, North American Publishing Services, this senior leader will be responsible for translating KRAFTON’s global publishing priorities into clear, commercially grounded, and locally relevant strategies for the North America market.
This role will operate at a portfolio level across current and future publishing priorities, including key titles such as SN2, Project Zeta, No Law, and other future initiatives. The Senior Director/Head of Publishing Strategy will lead regional publishing strategy, business planning, launch readiness, performance reviews, investment planning, operating rhythms, and executive decision making support. This leader will work closely with global publishing, production divisions, product, brand, engagement marketing, analytics, finance, legal, communications, agencies, and regional partners to ensure North America has a cohesive publishing agenda that drives measurable business impact.
This is a senior director level role requiring strong strategic judgment, executive presence, cross functional influence, and the ability to build scalable planning and governance systems across a complex global and regional organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead North America publishing strategy across priority titles and future portfolio opportunities, ensuring each title has a clear regional market strategy, audience thesis, launch approach, live service direction, and long term growth plan.
- Translate global publishing and product direction into North America specific strategies that reflect local player behavior, platform dynamics, cultural context, competitive trends, channel realities, and commercial opportunity.
- Own the strategic planning framework for North America publishing, including annual planning, title planning, launch planning, business reviews, investment planning, and executive decision making processes.
- Partner with global publishing, production divisions, product, analytics, finance, marketing, brand, engagement marketing, communications, media, events, and external partners to create integrated publishing plans that are aligned, actionable, and measurable.
- Establish and lead the operating rhythm for the Publishing Strategy function, including team priorities, KPI reviews, portfolio reviews, launch readiness forums, executive updates, post campaign analysis, escalation paths, and cross functional planning forums.
- Define market opportunity, audience priorities, positioning implications, commercial risks, growth levers, and investment recommendations for each priority title using data, research, competitive analysis, and business judgment.
- Lead the development of executive level strategic narratives, business cases, recommendations, and decision materials that clarify context, tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities for senior leadership.
- Build the Publishing Strategy discipline for North America, including frameworks, tools, planning standards, governance models, operating processes, and quality expectations required to support multiple titles and future portfolio growth.
- Lead, coach, and manage the Publishing Strategy team, creating clear goals, role expectations, feedback rhythms, development plans, and accountability mechanisms that strengthen individual and team performance.
- Develop team capability across strategic planning, market analysis, publishing operations, business reviews, KPI interpretation, executive storytelling, stakeholder management, and regional portfolio management.
- Identify organizational capability gaps within publishing strategy and address them through hiring, team development, process design, partner support, clearer ownership, and improved operating systems.
- Build a high performance team culture and leadership bench by developing talent, delegating meaningful ownership, creating growth opportunities, and ensuring the function operates as a central connective partner across global and regional stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience required. MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, a related discipline, or comparable work experience preferred.
- 10 or more years of experience leading publishing strategy, business strategy, portfolio planning, go to market strategy, or commercial strategy in consulting, games, entertainment, technology, media, or a related consumer business.
- Proven ability to lead strategy across multiple products, titles, or business priorities in a complex matrixed environment with global and regional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of North America player behavior, gaming market dynamics, platform ecosystems, launch planning, live service models, and commercial growth drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to convert research, data, market intelligence, and business performance into clear strategic recommendations and executive level decision materials.
- Experience leading executive planning, business reviews, investment discussions, KPI frameworks, operating rhythms, and decision-making processes.
- Strong cross functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying only on direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build concise, compelling executive narratives.
- Experience managing or developing strategy, insights, publishing operations, or business planning talent.
- Experience in PC, console, mobile, or cross platform game publishing preferred.
- Experience supporting major launches, live service growth, franchise planning, or regional publishing expansion preferred.
- Familiarity with publishing analytics, business intelligence, market research, audience segmentation, brand performance, and commercial forecasting preferred.
- Experience working with global headquarters, regional publishing teams, studios, or production groups preferred.

In California, the expected salary range for this position is $154,000-$211,000. The listed expected salary range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
