The  Olympic and Paralympic Villages must be safe, functional, and ready before a single  athletes, team officials and other stakeholders arrive, and the facilities systems that keep them running are being created now, ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Manager, Facilities, you will establish how the villages are inspected, maintained, and kept operational, working hand in hand with the venue owner to deliver dependable service. You will build the work order system from the ground up and lead a multidisciplinary effort across life safety, building systems, accessibility, and technology. It suits a builder and team leader who can turn accessible, inclusive standards into reliable operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and walk-throughs to verify readiness of residential, operational, training, and shared spaces, covering life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, accessibility, and technology. 

  • Define and implement the Village work order system, including intake, prioritization, dispatch, tracking, escalation, and close-out. 

  • Coordinate integration of the work order process with the venue owner's maintenance system to ensure clear ownership, timely response, and real-time status visibility. 

  • Partner with the venue owner to define roles, responsibilities, and service delivery for maintenance, utilities, building systems, defects, cleaning and waste, technology, and Games-time support. 

  • Coordinate facility support across operational phases, including venue setup, pre-opening, Olympic operations, Paralympic transition, and post-Games hand-back. 

  • Establish and monitor response times for critical, urgent, and routine issues, coordinating staffing and escalation with the venue owner to meet agreed service levels. 

  • 5+ years of experience in project and facilities management, preferably in large-scale or international events. 

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments. 

  • Strong strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

  • Expertise in project management tools, including Smartsheet and SharePoint. 

  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design. 

  • Familiarity with Olympic and Paralympic operations or major sporting events (highly desirable). 

  • Experience standing up maintenance or work order operations in a new or temporary facility.

Requirements

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office, with frequent travel to Village and venue sites as needed.

  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment. 

  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment. 

  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods. 

  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

  • Must be able to navigate large residential and operational zones during inspections, including during Games-time conditions.
