Required: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a paramedic in the State of Ohio. Current licensure in good standing as an EMS, Cardiac Technician, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant, or Physician.

Reports to: Lakeland EMTS Program Director/Dept Chair
- Serves as a departmental resource and provides instruction and assistance to the EMS program faculty and students.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provides instruction of lectures and lab skills for EMS and paramedic courses to meet/exceed minimum requirements for the instructor to student ratio required for EMS program accreditation.
- →Performs evaluation of student techniques for grades and competency.
- →Exhibits patience and a positive attitude to establish an encouraging learning environment.
- →Assists with the maintenance and cleanliness of the training lab.
- →Responsible for set up and operation of the training lab.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of EMS concepts, practices and procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and facilitate minor equipment repairs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work with and respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse student population.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Requirements
~1 min read- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a paramedic in the State of Ohio.
- Current licensure in good standing as an EMS, Cardiac Technician, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant, or Physician.
- Current certification in BLS and ACLS from American Heart Association.
- Current state of Ohio Fire and Emergency Services Instructor certification
Nice to Have
~1 min read- An Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in emergency health services or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a classroom instructor and/or lab instructor in an EMS/Paramedic educational training program.
- Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) to four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts/carries objects that weigh 10 lbs. or less.
