SI Sands (N.E.) provides a full range of aggregate and resource materials production services. We are equipped to handle every phase of the materials engineering process, from initial exploration to delivery of the end-product.

 

Currently CSI Sands (N.E.) is looking to fill the position of Rail Operator. Under the direction of the Supervisor and/or Shift Lead, the Scale Operator is required to follow all safety and operating procedures. The Scale Operators must be comfortable working with computers and able to effectively apply critical thinking to all aspect of the position.


Key areas of responsibility

Duties may include, but not limited to:

 

  • Operate conveyor machines and perform related functions.
  • Manual labor duties including cleaning site. 
  • Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure equipment is running correctly and troubleshoot any mechanical issues.
  • Follow direction of shift lead and/or supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to worksite.
  • Familiar with MSHA and/or OSHA procedures and policies.
  • Understanding of conveyor loading of aggregate materials.
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Heavy Equipment operation experience is desired.
  • Use of hand tools and different construction equipment is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience silo loading onto trailers.

 

Working Conditions

  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks, including shoveling and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Perform tasks including climbing and extensive walking in inclement weather and various weather conditions.

 

  Additional Information

  • 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.


 Compensation

  • $26.44/hour after 12 months of employment. 
  • For the first 90 days, it’s 80% of that rate .
  • From 90 days to 12 months of employment, 90% of that rate.
