Senior Software Systems Engineer, Autonomy Behavior and Services

The Latitude AI Systems Engineering team brings all the components of the autonomy stack together into a unified product.  We work very closely with all cross functional teams to define the architecture, requirements, test plans, and test cases of the following features and functions:

• A suite of ADAS features at different levels of autonomy (L1, L2 and L3), such as Blind Spot, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Base Park Aid, Lane Keeping & Change Assist, ACC, L2 Hands-On and Hands-Free, L3 Eyes-Free,.
• Onboard (vehicle) and Offboard (cloud) autonomy functions of Mapping, Prediction and Motion Planning.
• Onboard (vehicle) and Offboard (cloud) platform capabilities and functions such as Logging, Time Synchronization, Data Ingest and OTA SW Updates.

• →Ownership (lead and execute) of the systems engineering of multiple ADAS Features at Latitude and integration with Ford Platforms
• →Write requirements for the performance for a variety of features and the related functions considering nominal operations, vehicle and environmental variations, and operational domain bounding conditions
• →Write verification and validation plans, set acceptance criteria (performance targets) and support the needed V&V testing of our features
• →Perform failure analyses to identify potential failure mechanisms and preventions. 
• →Lead system level performance analysis and build evaluation pipelines. This would include designing metrics, defining targets, requiring novel research and ownership
• →Work closely with the perception, behavioral / motion planning Software teams at both Latitude and Ford in creating the functional and sw architectures.
• →Work closely with the Integration and Test team at Latitude to develop and execute the Design Verification Plan for our features to inform product readiness for launch. 
• →Periodically get hands-on with the product and see the designs in action and to provide expert feedback/insight to relevant teams.

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
• At least 4+ years of experience working in either automotive or robotics engineering, or a related field
• Experience working in production applications of perception and motion planning
• Experience writing functional requirements
• Experience with the analysis and testing of complex systems through data-driven approach and statistical analysis
• Experience designing and developing algorithms
• Experience with Python, C++, or other programming skills + git experience

• Doctorate Degree with a focus in robotics perception or motion planning
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering tools (ex: MagicDraw)
• Familiarity with requirements management tools (ex: Jama)
• Experience with autonomous vehicle testing
• Experience writing safety requirements to meet ISO 26262, SOTIF/ISO 21448 or similar standards
