What You’ll Do:
The Parts Department Back Counter Person performs a variety of customer service duties focusing and relating to the delivery of parts and accessories to company’s service technicians and service department that contribute to the efficient, safe and profitable operation of the dealership parts department. The Back Counter Person is responsible for counter parts sales, providing technicians the parts they need and providing excellent customer service.
Job Duties:
Assists Service Department and technicians with parts and availability needed to perform repairs
Issues parts to repair order
Maintains customer goodwill by interacting positively with customers
Fulfills customer requests
Provides price, availability and quotations for customers
Places orders for customers according to customer specifications
Follows prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of the dealership
Pulls parts for technicians
Updates emails to the Service Department as needed
Accepts warranty parts from technicians
Calls vendors to procure parts as needed
Processes core for returns
Processes new returned parts as required
Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly
Records all sales and/or customer transactions
Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain area clean
Uses dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks
Calls customers with parts issues
Assists in resolving customer complaints and concerns and ensures the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or the equivalent
Ford Experience required
Three years or more OEM dealer experience with heavy-duty trucks and parts
Demonstrated knowledge of truck engines, transmissions and rear axles
Knowledge of after-market vendors
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of supplies, equipment and mechanical parts
Required language proficiency to effectively communicate with customers
Ability to interpret customer needs
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to pass post offer drug test, and physical
Compensation:
$22-$25/hour depending on skills and qualifications plus commission
