ABOUT THE LAND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is the State’s affordable housing delivery body. Its main role is to acquire and develop State and other land to deliver affordable homes, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent Board of Directors and has total capitalisation of up to €8.75bn. To date €6.25 billion of equity capital has been committed by Government and a further €2.5bn capitalisation is permitted under legislation from other sources/debt.
The LDA is active on more than 20 State Land sites and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 25,000 homes. The Agency also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under its Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Summary:
Reporting to the Tax Lead, the role represents a fantastic opportunity for a tax professional to work within the Finance function of the LDA and to support all wider functions within the Agency.
As a Tax Analyst on the Tax team, you will own and drive critical indirect and direct tax compliance initiatives with a key focus on Value-Added Tax (VAT), Professional Services Withholding Tax and Relevant Contracts Tax.
The ideal candidate would ensure precise alignment between indirect tax compliance requirements, system configurations, and operational processes — maintain the integrity and accuracy of tax compliance while supporting corporate strategic initiatives. The candidate would work independently to identify compliance gaps and assist in building scalable solutions (partnering with the Operations, IT, Finance, Asset Management and Development functions) to remediate issues and strengthen our compliance posture.
The ideal candidate will possess all necessary commercial and financial acumen required to support the delivery of landmark projects but importantly will need to be a team player with the drive, work ethic and adaptability to respond to the exciting challenges of the LDA mandate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, completion and filing of indirect and direct tax returns.
- Provide tax advisory support to various business units within the company.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives in tax reporting.
- Maintain and update tax records and documentation.
- Support audits and provide documentation and analysis as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and implement efficiencies.
- Liaise with external advisors to ensure compliance with tax legislation.
Requirements:
Requirements this candidate will have (shortlisting criteria)
- Professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), ACA/ACCA)
- 2–4 years’ experience in tax (practice or industry)
- Strong understanding of Irish tax legislation, especially in VAT.
- Familiarity with Real Estate industry
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering formal briefings
