As an Associate Technical Specialist, you will join our MSAT Technical Support team and play a key role in ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient CAR‑T manufacturing operations. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), you will provide hands‑on scientific and technical support on the shop floor while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This role operates in a shift‑based model, providing direct shop floor and on‑call support to manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting (Shop Floor Firefighting)

Act as the first point of contact for process‑related issues during manufacturing
- →
Temporarily reprioritize work to support urgent shop floor issues, working via a ticketing system or ad‑hoc requests
- →
Troubleshoot process and equipment‑related problems (e.g. equipment errors, process deviations, validation or technical constraints)
- →
Lead or participate in escalation calls when issues cannot be immediately resolved, in close collaboration with MSAT leadership, Operations, Quality, and technical experts

MSAT – Operations Bridge & Process Ownership

Maintain strong on‑the‑floor presence through active engagement, including GEMBA walks in Grade B and Grade C environments

Act as a scientific bridge between MSAT and Operations, ensuring deep understanding of how processes are executed on the shop floor

Build strong relationships with stakeholders
- →
Act as an end‑to‑end process owner, with a solid understanding of process robustness, acceptable deviations, and optimization opportunities

Apply a science‑driven perspective to ensure correct handling of cells and continuous improvement of manufacturing practices

Project & Continuous Improvement Support

Support process improvement and optimization initiatives, focusing on practical, impactful improvements.

Contribute to documentation updates, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls

Support larger projects

Contribute to data collection and trend analysis to support informed decision‑making

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences oriented field is required, or equivalent by experience

Minimum 3 years in total, of which 2 years in a cGMP biotech or biopharma environment

Experience in Cell and/or Gene Therapy manufacturing is a strong asset

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Comfortable working in a shift‑based, operationally critical environment

Strong communicator able to translate complex topics across all organizational levels

Flexible, proactive, and accustomed to firefighting and rapid problem solving

Team‑oriented, empathetic, and able to build trust on the shop floor

Troubleshooting complex scientific and technical issues with limited oversight

Strong knowledge of cGMP documentation (deviations, CAPAs, change controls)

Analytical, structured, and result‑driven mindset

Precise, quality‑focused, and compliant with procedures and standards
