1909 Gastropub in Old Town Temecula is seeking a Barback who is passionate and excited about providing an exceptional guest experience!

Every stocked bottle, polished glass, clean workspace, and timely support provided to the bar team contributes to creating memorable experiences for our guests. BARBACK RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
• Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine and beer
• Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs, or changing out kegs, if needed
• Barbacks need to have a certain amount of physical strength to lift full kegs and carry them from storage. They also must know how to properly tap a keg
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles
• Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes.
• Taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, opening tabs, and processing payments especially during peak hours
• Speaking to customers, answering questions, handling complaints
• Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly
• Filling red sanitizer bucket 
• Frequent changing of beer and wine kegs
• Update labels when new beer/wine kegs are tapped
• Perform additional tasks to support overall success of restaurant

BARBACK REQUIREMENTS

• MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE TO APPLY
• Must be able to obtain Riverside Food Handlers Card
• Must be able to obtain Responsible Beverage Service Certificate
• Must have at least 1 year of Barback and/or Restaurant Experience
• Able to move and clean quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly “people-person”
• Always keeping a positive and upbeat attitude.
• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
• Must speak fluent English; Excellent verbal communication
• Works well and efficiently under pressure
• Flexibility and willing to work shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts
• Reliability and Punctuality is a must
• Takes pride in professional appearance
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.

Activities include, but are not limited to, walking, or standing for 6 to 8 hours at a time, reaching, stooping, lifting or carrying 50 or more pounds, carrying, talking, sitting, able to wipe down bar, tabletops, chairs, and booths; able to pick up debris from floor; able to push vacuum or mop.

PAY

• Earn a base wage of $16.90/hour + tips, with the opportunity to average around $33/hour depending on your shift, volume, and performance.

• We’re a high-energy, fast-paced restaurant with a steady flow of guests—so if you bring great service and hustle, the earning potential is strong every shift.
