US Client Partner — Bridge for Japan Software Development Team

Remote- US-based only.

Our client is a Japan-based software development team looking for a US-based partner to own our client relationships in the North American market. You'll be the trusted face our US clients work with day-to-day while collaborating closely with our engineers in Japan to deliver excellent work.

This is a real ownership role, not a pass-through. You'll shape how we communicate, scope projects, and keep clients confident in the team.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for US-based clients — discovery calls, scoping, status updates, and delivery handoffs.

Translate client requirements into clear briefs for the Japan development team, and translate technical updates back into client-friendly language.

Lead written and verbal communication (calls, chats, proposals) in fluent American English.

Coordinate timezone handoffs between US clients and the Japan team to keep projects moving around the clock.

Represent the team's quality, professionalism, and culture in every client interaction.

Collaborate with the Japan team via shared tools (Slack/Teams, project management, video calls) — a company-provided device will be set up for secure collaboration.

Requirements

US-based, anywhere in the country.

American English speaker with strong cultural fluency in US business communication.

2+ years in client-facing roles (account management, client success, project coordination, or freelance consulting).

Comfortable working with offshore or distributed technical teams; bonus if you've worked with Asia-based teams before.

Self-directed, reliable, and responsive — you don't need a manager looking over your shoulder.

Basic understanding of software development workflows is a plus
