About the Role

One of our operating companies, Veracity, is looking for a Finance Officer to join their team in Brisbane.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of finance processes and contributing to the smooth operation of a dynamic business.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting and partnering with operational teams to ensure financial excellence across the organisation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute monthly customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Liaise with staff and leadership to ensure timesheets are completed and submitted on schedule.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including:
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Preparation of manual journals
    • Month-end accruals and calculations
  • Prepare monthly reporting packs for the parent company, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage supplier accounts, including statement reconciliations and monthly payment runs.
  • Assist with BAS preparation, including GST and quarterly income tax provisions.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Complete bank, credit card and expense account reconciliations.
  • Follow up outstanding customer payments and support accounts receivable activities.
  • Liaise with external accountants regarding payroll-related matters and financial queries.
  • Support process improvements, internal reporting, and ad hoc finance projects as required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in a bookkeeping, finance officer, or assistant accountant role. 
  • Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes and reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software (desirable).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial
