Job Purpose

Support the Business Integrity & Ethics function in managing and conducting independent and objective investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, corruption, conflict of interest, abuse of authority, misuse of company resources, and other integrity-related matters. The role is responsible for assessing allegations, gathering and analyzing evidence, conducting interviews, preparing investigation reports, documenting findings and recommendations, and supporting the implementation of corrective actions. In addition, the role supports the development and delivery of ethics and compliance awareness initiatives, manages compliance and conflict of interest declaration programs, reviews and monitors disclosures, prepares periodic compliance reports and dashboards, and promotes a strong culture of integrity, ethics, accountability, and compliance across the organization.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Together with the Director compliance, is authorized to implement all necessary the approved Policy and procedure and actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of an effective compliance program
  • Provide support for Developing a new policy, procedure and program, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program.
  • Collaborates with other departments (e.g. Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution
  • Responds to alleged violations 
  • Monitors, records, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested

     

    Minimum Qualifications &Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from a recognized university.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in compliance in a similar type of major organization

Skills:

  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills, including the ability to interact positively with a wide variety of individuals.

  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct and trustworthiness.

  • Exceptional communication ability on all levels inside the organization
  • Ability to work and be at ease with diverse groups of people.

Investigation skills:

  • Experience in conducting compliance investigations and case management.
  • Experience in interviewing witnesses and subjects of investigations.
  • Knowledge of evidence handling, documentation, and investigation methodologies.
  • Ability to assess allegations and determine investigation scope.
  • Experience preparing investigation reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Understanding workplace misconduct, fraud, abuse of authority, conflict of interest, and ethics-related cases.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Investigation Specialists, providing direction and support for effective investigations.
  • Conduct independent and objective investigations into alleged misconduct, ensuring a fair and thorough process.
  • Assess and prioritize allegations, determining the scope and approach for each investigation.
  • Gather and analyze evidence, including interviewing relevant parties and reviewing documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigation reports, documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Support the implementation of corrective actions and ensure follow-up on investigation outcomes.
  • Administer compliance declaration programs and manage conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Promote whistleblowing activities and ensure a safe and confidential reporting process.
  • Develop and deliver compliance awareness initiatives to educate employees on ethical conduct.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide periodic compliance reporting and insights.
  • A bachelor's degree in law, ethics, compliance, or a related field is required, with a preference for a master's degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in an ethics and compliance role, with 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience in conducting complex investigations and managing sensitive matters.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to ethics and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Proficiency in using investigation tools and techniques, including interview strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
