The successful candidate will be proficient in 3 types of forklifts—sit-down, reach, and order picker (OP), and must demonstrate unwavering adherence to all safety rules, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Receive customers’ incoming product
- →Put-away (locate) in warehouse storage area
- →Retrieve product from warehouse location and ship to customers’ designated destination, while ensuring product arrives undamaged and accurate inventory is maintained
- →Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and delivery transport vehicles, by hand or using powered industrial trucks, order pickers, electric or manual pallet jacks
Receiving:
- →Retrieve freight, stock, and other materials from incoming transport vehicles
- →Inspect product load for accuracy, and attach identifying tags to product, boxes, and pallets or mark them with identifying information
- →Safely move product to designated warehouse storage area using appropriate material-moving equipment
- →Record warehouse location, product type/code, quantity and other information via scanners or appropriate inbound document form
Shipping:
- →Move freight, stock, and other materials from warehouse storage location to staging area or loading dock, according to order specifications, using appropriate material-moving equipment
- →Load product onto transport vehicle following proper loading procedures; install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage of items being transported.
Inspect Transport Vehicle:
- →Inspect floor of transport vehicle in connection with the safe loading and transport of cargo.
- →Ensure dock plate and transport vehicle is secure for safe entry into vehicle.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training
- Flexibility to perform wide variety of tasks such as loading/unloading of trucks, picking material from high bays, floor locations, and put away of product in high bays or floor locations
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to follow workflow procedures
- Ability to efficiently meet deadlines
- Demonstrate conduct conforming to organizational values and accepted standards; honest and dutiful
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals and take care of customer needs while following company procedures and policies
- Ability to complete work duties under stressful situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions, and procedure manuals
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical equipment, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
