Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Works on an engineering team to provide day-to-day servers, compute, network and storage escalated support. Design, build and manage all aspects of network (route/switch/firewall/load balancer), server, virtualization (VMware), security, storage, and email/collaboration platforms. Design, build, support and maintain the enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Manage design, installation, configuration, setup, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and decommissioning of servers/networks and associated equipment and hardware (including data center compute/storage) in a VMware environment at an advanced level
- →Familiarity with the following route/switch/server/virtualization protocols: BGP, SD-WAN, L2TP, IPSec, RSTP, HSRP, VRRP, SQL/OS Clustering, AD Sites & Services, DFS/DFS-R, DRS, vMotion, HA, Storage Clustering
- →Design and perform system backups, methodologies and restoration of systems as required in accordance with company policies and procedures
- →Oversee the performance of the network and servers, ensuring a smooth-running technology infrastructure
- →Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or other network and system problems at an expert level
- →Lead and support network and system related projects according to agree upon budget and schedules.
- →Assists in the design, implementation, management and maintenance of disaster recovery systems, including failover testing
- →Partners in a 24/7 network and system support team ensuring optimum network functionality, planning and performing maintenance requiring server downtime after hours.
- →Builds, maintains and supports security policy, implementing security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- →Partners with users to resolve advanced escalated issues and problems they are experiencing related to system, network, database or storage performance.
- →PowerShell / WMI Scripting Knowledge
- →Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or related field required.
- 5+ years of total experience with 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, building and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Systems (RDS, AD, GPO, Print/File, Application, Database), Cisco Networks (Nexus Route/Switch, ASA firewalls, Meraki Firewall/Switch/WAP) and VMware (vCenter, vSphere, vCloud and NSX) virtualization products
- Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Products (Office 365, Intune, ATP, Azure Active Directory)
- Preferred Certifications: CCNP, MCSE, VCP
- Ability to thrive in a remote environment.
- Some travel is required.
- May on occasion require work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside of normal business hours.
