Marksman Security is seeking a Field Training Officer (FTO) to train, mentor, and develop newly hired and existing security professionals. The FTO will play a key role in ensuring officers understand and consistently perform their responsibilities while maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, customer service, and compliance.
The FTO will conduct hands-on training, provide real-time coaching and feedback, evaluate trainee performance, and ensure security personnel are prepared to effectively perform their assigned duties.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- βConduct and document new-hire OJT training in accordance with the established OJT curriculum.
- βConduct and document monthly in-service training.
- βConduct and document guard force cross-training.
- βConduct and document refresher and remedial training.
- βConduct and document hands-on training exercises.
- βConduct and document post training and coaching.
- βConduct and document post inspections and compliance audits.
- βEvaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
- βAssess new-hire knowledge of SOPs and post-specific duties.
- βEnsure trainees follow established security protocols and procedures.
- βMentor officers in professionalism, integrity, communication, and customer service.
- βAssist with ongoing guard force coaching and development.
- βAssist with audits of guard force uniforms and equipment needs.
- βPromote a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- βIncorporate Marksman and Clients' core values throughout training and officer interactions.
- βFollow all Marksman and Clients' policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
- βComplete a weekly training summary report for the Training Manager.
- βPerform other duties as assigned by Marksman Security Corporation Management.
Requirements

- Previous security experience preferred but not required
- Military, law enforcement, or public safety background beneficial
- Experience in customer service or public-facing roles
- Understanding of basic security principles and practices
Credentials & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active BSIS Guard Card
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Basic computer skills for report writing and communications
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform security duties in various weather conditions
