Maintenance Officer (Full-time)

At AC Hotel Gold Coast, every detail matters. From the spaces our guests experience to the systems working behind the scenes, our Maintenance team plays an important role in keeping the hotel operating safely, efficiently and beautifully. 

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our pre-opening team and help bring our new hotel to life. 

The role  

You’ll support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the hotel, responding to guest and operational maintenance requests while ensuring our building, equipment and systems are maintained to a high standard. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Completing preventative and reactive maintenance across the hotel 

• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems 

• Conducting routine property and equipment inspections 

• Responding promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests 

• Supporting the safe operation of plant, equipment and building systems 

• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, inventories and handovers 

• Working with contractors and suppliers when required 

• Supporting and mentoring other Engineering team members 

• Performing Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and property rounds 

About you 

You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving skills and the confidence to work independently on complex maintenance issues. 

Ideally, you will have: 

• At least 2 years' experience in hotel engineering, maintenance or a similar environment 

• Strong experience across areas such as HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and general building maintenance 

• The ability to read technical drawings, schematics and building documentation 

• Experience troubleshooting complex building and MEP systems 

• A valid driver's licence 

• Relevant refrigeration, electrical or technical qualifications, or be working towards them 

• A strong understanding of workplace safety and safe maintenance practices 

• A genuine commitment to providing an excellent guest experience
