JOB SUMMARY

As a key member of the Global Growth Delivery leadership team, the Vice President, Growth Delivery, is responsible for accelerating Marriott's ability to convert partnerships, acquisitions, brand expansions, and other strategic growth opportunities into operating results. This role aligns disciplines and delivers the internal capabilities required to move opportunities from deal approval through integration and launch with greater speed, predictability, and scale. By accelerating the activation of new brands, partnerships, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives, this role contributes to Marriott's broader growth strategy and objectives.

Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, enterprise leadership, commercial judgment, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder interactions. Specifically, the Vice President will:

  • Serve as the enterprise leader for growth integration strategy and execution, including the process design, governance, decision rights, and operating protocols followed by participants and executives.

  • Partner with Technology, Digital, Finance, Development, Operations, and other key stakeholders to shorten the time from deal to delivery through streamlined processes, automation, and business-focused use of AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Accelerate growth initiatives by giving stakeholders the right information at the right time, establishing accountability for decisions and deadlines, and removing barriers that delay launch or value realization.

  • Architect success by maintaining focus on enterprise outcomes, applying repeatable best practices, and surfacing disconnects that could erode value, increase cost, slow delivery, or create risk.

The Vice President, Growth Delivery, functions as a strategic business leader and enterprise orchestrator for growth execution. The role creates frameworks to identify priorities, simplifies complex information, anticipates challenges, and partners with senior executives to deliver Marriott's shared strategic objectives. This role reports to the Managing Vice President, Portfolio Planning & Product Delivery.

SUCCESS MEASURES

  • Reduced cycle time from deal approval to integration, launch, and business activation.

  • Successful activation of growth opportunities that support Marriott's broader growth strategy and objectives.

  • Improved predictability, scalability, and stakeholder confidence across the Growth portfolio.

  • Greater effectiveness of annual Growth initiative funding through disciplined prioritization, resource allocation, automation, and continuous process improvement.

  • Measurable improvements in delivery cost, capacity, decision velocity, and realization of intended business outcomes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university and 12+ years of experience in strategy development, consulting, and/or development roles, with direct hands-on experience in M&A integration planning, execution, and risk management; or

  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience in a related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

Required Experience and Capabilities

  • Experience evaluating business trends and implementing programs and strategies that enhance multi-unit business performance.

  • Experience leading large-scale initiatives and the associated organizational change.

  • Experience improving complex, cross-functional business processes through simplification, automation, data, or AI-enabled capabilities, with measurable impact on speed, cost, capacity, or business outcomes.

  • Experience managing or influencing investment portfolios, annual funding, resource allocation, and business-value tradeoffs.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions and amid complexity and ambiguity.

  • Prior success leading teams in a large, customer-focused, complex, matrixed organization.

  • Ability to sell ideas persuasively, influence with and without direct authority, negotiate skillfully, and resolve differences while preserving relationships.

  • Lodging or hospitality industry experience across multiple brands.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Growth Delivery Strategy and Portfolio Management

  • Lead work to ensure growth initiatives are aligned to Marriott's broader growth strategy and objectives, sequenced for effective delivery and intended benefits, managed through a common process from ideation through sustainment, supported by the right mix of cross-discipline resources, and resourced cost-effectively.

  • Partner with C-suite, Continent, Discipline, Technology, and Digital leaders to simplify handoffs, streamline delivery, and accelerate successful integration and launch.

  • Identify and manage execution risks, funding constraints, issues, and interdependencies across the Growth portfolio, and communicate performance, decisions, and critical issues to key stakeholder groups.

  • Lead the annual planning, prioritization, allocation, and governance of funding for Growth initiatives, directing resources to the highest-value opportunities and balancing portfolio demand with available capacity.

  • Partner with Finance and executive stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness of Growth funding through transparent tradeoffs, disciplined resource management, process improvement, and reinvestment of efficiencies.

Team and Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead the team responsible for Growth Delivery activities, ensuring successful collaboration with discipline partners and achievement of key performance indicators focused on speed to market, delivery effectiveness, and successful activation of growth opportunities.

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and guide decisions that balance stakeholder needs with the long-term viability of the business.

  • Translate stakeholder needs into scalable support products, services, and ways of working that improve integration execution and shorten time to value.

Enterprise Advisory and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify emerging business opportunities and risks, assess strategic implications, provide feedback to key stakeholders, and take a leadership role in decision-making.

  • Champion continuous improvement, automation, and practical AI-enabled capabilities that reduce manual work, improve decision-making, and increase delivery speed, capacity, and consistency.

LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

  • Operate as an enterprise leader who connects growth strategy, investment, technology, and execution to accelerate the successful delivery of growth initiatives.

  • Create clarity and accountability across complex, cross-functional work, challenge established processes, and build alignment around faster and more efficient delivery.

  • Develop a high-performing team and reinforce collaboration, disciplined delivery, and measurable outcomes.
