The Public Affairs Officer supports the development and execution of the organization’s EU and international public policy strategy. Working closely with senior advisors and business leaders, the Public Affairs Officer monitors regulatory developments, prepares strategic insights, and contributes to engagement with policymakers, industry partners, and key stakeholders. The role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with excellent writing skills and an interest in geopolitics, regulation, and corporate strategy.
Requirements
~1 min read- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the area of financial services and/or an EU Institution, an EU public affairs consultancy or EU public affairs team of an NGO, corporate, business association or law firm or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, European Affairs, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely - Research, data analysis and presentation creation skills
- Bilingual or fluent in English; additional EU languages are an asset.
- Strong understanding of EU institutions, legislative processes, and regulatory dynamics.
- Proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial thinking - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills - Open, empathic and experienced in dealing with high-profile contacts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Monitor and analyze EU legislative and regulatory developments across assigned policy areas (e.g., digital, sustainability, competition, corporate governance).
- Prepare high‑quality briefings, policy notes, position papers, and internal reports for senior management.
- Support the design and implementation of advocacy strategies, including stakeholder mapping, engagement plans, and event preparation.
- Assist in organizing meetings with EU institutions, trade associations, think tanks, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with Communication teams
- Support the definition and implementation of global public affairs communication strategy - to further improve Forvis Mazars’ visibility and reputation on public policy issues and to prepare key publications
- Draft content for internal and external communication (articles, newsletters, social media posts) related to public policy and regulatory trends.
