Introduction

The\r\nMaryland Military Department is seeking a candidate for the position of Child\r\nand Youth Program Coordinator. This position will be contractual and 100% federally funded. The longevity of this role will be determined based on\r\nfederal funding availability.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis\r\nrole follows a compressed work schedule, Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to\r\n5:00 p.m. Occasional attendance may be required on the weekend for military\r\nevents.\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

This position provides operational, educational, and administrative support for the\r\nMaryland Army National Guard Child and Youth Services (CYS) Program under a Cooperative Agreement\r\n(CA) with the Maryland National Guard. Under the supervision of the Lead Child & Youth Program\r\nCoordinator (CYPC), this position executes evidence based life skills and resilience training,\r\ndeployment cycle support, youth council sponsorship, community outreach, and administrative\r\nreporting for school-aged ARNG dependents ages 6-18.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

Position duties include\r\nbut are not limited to:�\r\n\r\n\r\n��Coordinate education\r\nand youth development for school aged ARNG dependent�\r\n��Formulate and execute\r\nannual state-specific marketing plans�\r\n��Serve as the adult lead\r\nsponsor for Maryland National Guard Youth Council.�\r\n��Identify, train and\r\nmentor youth delegates.�\r\n��Conduct life skills and\r\nresilience building activities for school aged ARNG dependents.\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:���Graduation\r\nfrom an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency\r\ncertificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience:\r\nThree years of administrative staff or professional work.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n\r\n1.\r\nCandidates may substitute 30�credit hours from an accredited college or\r\nuniversity for�one�year of the required experience.\r\n�\r\n2.\r\nCandidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a\r\ncollege or university for the required experience.\r\n�\r\n3.\r\nCandidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience\r\ninvolving staff work that included�regular use of independent judgment and\r\nanalysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies,\r\nrules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with\r\nrecommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the\r\nrequired�experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.\r\nTwo (2) or more years of experience planning, organizing, and facilitating\r\nstructured educational, resilience, or life-skills programs for school-aged\r\nchildren and youth (ages 6–18).\r\n\r\n\r\n2.\r\nExperience formulating and executing marketing plans, outreach initiatives, or\r\nsocial media promotion for community or youth programs.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n3.\r\nExperience tracking participant metrics, compiling survey data, and writing\r\nactivity reports or After-Action Reports (AARs) for community or youth groups.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n4.\r\nActive CPR and First Aid certifications at the time of application.\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties\r\nwhich require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such\r\nduties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in\r\nthe State of Maryland with less than 5 points to operate a state vehicle.\r\n\r\n\r\n�2. Master Trainer Certification within 10 months of hire.�\r\n\r\n\r\n�3. Active CPR/ First Aid certification.\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Common Access Card (CAC) required. This\r\nposition will require the ability to pass a Federal background check in\r\naddition to a State background to access several readiness centers and military\r\nposts, and federal systems that require the use of the CAC. The ability to\r\nobtain and maintain access to the facility and CAC is a condition of employment\r\nfor this position.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis position will require the\r\nability to pass a State & Federal background check to access military\r\nfacilities within the state of Maryland.� Being able to access these\r\nfacilities is a condition of employment for this position.\r\n
