POSITION DUTIES

This position serves as the\r\nDeputy CFO who is responsible for the direct oversight of Division of Financial\r\nServices Directors responsible for Accounting, Budget, Payroll, Regional Fiscal\r\nOperations to include Inmate Accounts and other various Fiscal operational\r\nsupport functions in a 24/7 public safety and corrections environment.\r\nThe Deputy CFO executes workforce priorities established by the CFO and ensures\r\nconsistent, compliant, and timely delivery of Fiscal services across DPSCS\r\ninstitutions, community supervision operations, and headquarters units\r\nstatewide.\r\n\r\nThis position serves as the acting authority in the absence of the CFO and must\r\ndemonstrate executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain\r\ntrusted stakeholder relationships with executive leadership, appointing\r\nauthorities, and institutional leadership. Additional key responsibilities\r\ninclude:\r\nExecutive Management of Fiscal Directors\r\n�\r\nDirectly supervise and\r\nperformance-manage Fiscal Directors leading budget management, general\r\naccounting, payroll, and regional fiscal operational support units.\r\n�\r\nEstablish execution priorities,\r\nservice expectations, and operational performance standards.\r\n�\r\nHold Directors accountable for\r\nworkforce service delivery, compliance, and operational outcomes.\r\n�\r\nIdentify and escalate systemic\r\nrisks or compliance concerns to the CFO.\r\n\r\nRecruitment & Talent Acquisition\r\n\r\n�\r\nOversee Director-led\r\nrecruitment and hiring operations for the Division of Financial Services non-mandated\r\npositions.\r\n�\r\nCoordinate with Headquarters\r\nand Regional operational partners to meet staffing demands.\r\n\r\nFinancial Operational Execution & Performance Cycle Oversight\r\n\r\n�\r\nOversee Director-led Fiscal operational\r\nsupport functions including timekeeping, leave administration, employment\r\nverification, and performance cycle execution.\r\n�\r\nEnsure service quality,\r\nresponsiveness, and compliance across operational Fiscal units.\r\n�\r\nAddress delivery gaps and\r\nimplement corrective action where necessary.\r\n\r\nLeadership Coordination & Reporting\r\n\r\n�\r\nRespond to legislative fiscal\r\nimpact requests.\r\n�\r\nRespond to audit corrective\r\naction status requests.\r\n�\r\nConsolidate workforce execution\r\nreporting.\r\n�\r\nProvide executive-level\r\nupdates, performance insights, and risk indicators to the CFO.\r\n�\r\nSupport operational continuous\r\nimprovement initiatives.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�A bachelor's degree from an�accredited\r\ncollege or university.�\r\nExperience:�Ten (10) years of\r\nprogressive, professional Fiscal experience to include at least five (5) years\r\nof supervisory or managerial experience involving oversight of fiscal year end\r\nclosing activities and/or budget monitoring and submission activities for\r\ngovernmental or not for profit entities.\r\nNotes:�\r\n1.�Candidates may substitute the possession of a master's degree from an\r\naccredited college or university in�the fields of Business Administration\r\nor Accounting for 2 years of experience.\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute the possession of certified professional\r\naccountant license for 2 years of experience.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to\r\napplicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear\r\nand specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n�\r\n5 years of previous\r\nexperience working within a state or large public-sector (at least 1,000\r\nemployee) financial environment.\r\n�\r\n5 year of experience\r\nleading financial operations in a large, complex, and regulated organization.\r\n�\r\n5 years of experience\r\nserving in an acting executive capacity or reporting directly to a CFO or\r\nagency head.\r\n
