ASTD15\r\nStarting salary for VR Specialist II is $65,707. State Salary Guidelines may apply\r\n

LOCATION OF POSITION

POSITION DUTIES

\r\n\r\nThe Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Specialist provides services to increase employment and advancement opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This position specializes in assisting blind or low vision individuals. The Specialist assists consumers so that they may maintain, prepare for and obtain gainful employment consistent with their interest, skills, capacities, strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, and informed choices. The Specialist position ensures the application of federal and state regulations and division policy, completes initial interviews, determines applicant eligibility for services, determines the nature and scope of services necessary to address disability barriers, addresses employment readiness, and ensures identified services are provided and/or coordinated with various partners.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree.\r\nExperience: Two years of professional\r\nexperience in a behavioral or social science-related field or one year of\r\nprofessional experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist I providing\r\nrehabilitation counseling or vocational evaluation services to clients with\r\nphysical or behavioral disabilities, or teaching services to clients with\r\npartial or total visual impairment.\r\n�\r\nNote: A Master's degree in a\r\nBehavioral or Social Science related field may be substituted for one year of\r\nthe required experience.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n\r\n\r\nPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Professional experience working with blind or low vision individuals with disabilities.��\r\n Experience instructing individuals who are blind or have low vision.�\r\n Experience providing career counseling and case management.�\r\n Experience providing direct client or coordination services in a vocational rehabilitation or other human services related field.�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n�\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

\r\n\r\n\r\nApplicants must consent to a State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency.\r\n\r\n�\r\n\r\n
