🌟 Join Our Mission: Shape the Future of Healthcare! 🌟

Medenterprises exists to advance the health of medicine - building an ecosystem of products and services, including Medrecruit, Australasia's largest doctors staffing agency, and Medworld, the staffing solution supporting doctors and the teams around them. Behind the scenes, our Finance team keeps all of this accurate, on time, and ready for what's next.

We're looking for a technically strong, curious Accountant to join our Finance team working closely with our Head of Finance and Commercial Accountant to deliver accurate financial reporting and lead our Accounting Assistants.

About the role
This is a hands-on, detail-driven role at the centre of our finance function spanning month-end close, group consolidation, tax and audit compliance, and reporting across our New Zealand and Australia operations.

You will:

  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring the team meets deadlines and all balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations are completed accurately.
  • Manage NZ group GST returns and transfer pricing calculations, and support the annual financial audit alongside our external auditors.
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, and lead the monthly consolidation and elimination process for group reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly management reports, providing trend analysis and commentary to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements across Business Central and our other finance systems.
  • Lead, mentor and develop our Accounting Assistants, allocating workload and supporting their ongoing growth.
  • Provide day-to-day finance support and advice to our Doctor Pay & Invoicing team and wider business.
  • Contribute to our ISO 9001 quality management system and support ongoing legislative compliance.

What We're Looking For

We're after more than someone who can process numbers accurately - we want someone with an inquiring mind who asks why, not just what. You're genuinely passionate about numbers, eager to learn and grow your technical skills, and excited about how AI and automation are changing the way finance teams work. Above all, we care about the right fit -  someone who'll thrive in a collaborative, supportive team.

You'll also bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, and CPA/CA qualification (or working towards it).
  • Experience with finance and invoicing systems.
  • A high degree of computer and financial literacy.
  • High attention to detail, process focused, organised and with meticulous administration skills.
  • Pride in providing exceptional service and support to others.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and to work to tight deadlines.
  • Privacy and confidentiality is essential.
  • Enthusiastic about AI and technology, and keen to use it to work smarter.
  • An interest in mentoring and developing others, as this role leads 3 Accounting Assistants.

You'll love working at Medenterprises because of:

  • The impact. An opportunity to have an impact on the lives of doctors, healthcare services and the people that they serve. Work for a purpose-led organisation.
  • The culture and benefits. Be surrounded by a committed, motivated, and high performing team.
