Logistics Intern

As an intern at Melton Logistics, you’ll gain first-hand knowledge of the inner-workings of the transportation and logistics industries while spending time in each of the four areas of our organization: Business Development, Operations, Carrier Development and Administration. You will have the opportunity to work directly with management on a daily basis while learning the building blocks of a lucrative career. • →Provide support to account managers
• →Search for and qualify new leads
• →Recruit, develop and qualify partner carriers
• →Maintain and update database of carriers and accounts
• →Communicate requirements with carriers
• →Assist in entering loads
• →Match carriers to loads using carrier networks
• →Assist in and perform sales calls
• →Negotiate pricing with carriers
• →Coordinate load dispatch and monitor progress
• →Set up new accounts
• →Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Junior or senior level college status with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work in a team oriented environment, make good decisions, and problem solve. Must possess the ability and desire to learn new programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two or more years of sales, customer service, or administrative experience

SPECIAL TRAINING: Ability to use Microsoft Office software applications, utilize a Logistics Operations System, CRM Tool & navigate the Windows XP Operating System
