The Role: Mergon UK are currently hiring for an IT Administrator to join our team in Blackburn and be the site IT Lead, managing the day to day support of all end users, systems and infrastructure.
Scope of the Position: We are seeking a highly motivated
IT Administrator to join our team at Mergon UK. This is a dual-role opportunity that combines hands-on IT support with project leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead local IT operations while also playing a key role in the rollout of Mergon’s global ERP system, a major upcoming implementation project at the UK site.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:15-17:00, based on site in Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the site IT lead, managing the day-to-day support for end users, systems, and infrastructure.
- Act as project lead for the ERP system rollout at Mergon UK, coordinating with the global IT and local site teams to ensure a successful deployment.
- Provide technical support for local IT infrastructure, including:

- VMware virtual environments

- Windows Server and Active Directory

- Fortinet network equipment (firewalls, switches, access points)

- Office 365 administration

- Security and disaster recovery planning

- PCs, printers, scanners, and mobile device support
- Support and troubleshoot ERP application issues in collaboration with the global IT and business systems teams.
- Understand and support business workflows across departments (Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, HR).
- Ensure local compliance with global IT policies, including ITIL-based practices.
- Assist with report generation using Crystal Reports, Power Pivot, or Power BI.
- Participate in change management and continuous improvement initiatives within the IT environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar IT administration or systems support role.
- Hands-on experience with:

- VMware and Windows Server environments

- Fortinet firewalls, switches, and wireless access points

- Office 365 and Active Directory
- Strong understanding of IT security and disaster recovery best practices.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing business processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage local projects while collaborating remotely with global teams.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with ERP implementations (IQMS/DELMIAWorks or similar)
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and methodology
- Experience with Crystal Reports, Power Pivot, or Power BI
