Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** \r\n
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason the position exists is to\r\nprovide stock handling and store record keeping for the Police, Information\r\nTechnology (IT), and Traffic Engineering Departments, or the Division of\r\nPurchasing for the City of Montgomery. The employee is responsible for\r\nreceiving, issuing, inspecting, and storing a large and varied stock of equipment\r\nand supplies for various City departments. The work responsibilities include processing\r\nand reconciling purchasing and billing of supplies, equipment, and/or parts,\r\nassisting technicians with diagnosing equipment problems, maintaining and\r\nupdating vendor contracts, conducting spot checks and annual inventory, and\r\npreparing surplus equipment and vehicles for public sale. The employee has\r\nconsiderable independent responsibility for maintaining adequate supply and\r\nstock levels. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Radio\r\nCommunications Supervisor, Traffic Maintenance Supervisor, or Warehouse\r\nSupervisor.�\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
\r\nHigh school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative\r\nexperience in the receiving, storing, issuing, distributing and charging out\r\nvarious materials, supplies and equipment to other departments or organizations.\r\n\r\n\r\n�\r\nNOTE:�Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n
Special Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license as needed to drive City vehicle when picking up and delivering supplies. � \r\n\r\n�\r\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted as needed to receive, issue and store supplies.\r\n
