Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** \r\n

Nature of Work

The\r\nfundamental reason this position exists is to supervise the proper acquisition,\r\nreceipt, storage, distribution, or issuance of leather goods and office\r\nsupplies.� Work involves making decisions\r\nconcerning stocking, storing, and securing evidence, found property and\r\nproperty belonging to inmates to include properly handling evidence and\r\ndisposing of unclaimed property and evidence. The work responsibilities of the\r\njob are:� oversees the maintenance of\r\nrecords and files; oversees and directs the proper handling; storage and\r\ndisposal of found property and evidence, responding to inquiries regarding\r\nfound property or evidence; plans and oversees the acquisition, receipt,\r\nstorage, and proper issuance of leather goods and office supplies; oversees the\r\nprint shop functions; supervises two or more employees; and oversees and\r\ncoordinates department requests for building maintenance supplies. Work is\r\nperformed under the general supervision and direction of the designated sworn\r\nofficer in the Administrative Division. ��\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

\r\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent, and at least three years of\r\nexperience in law enforcement evidence collection and processing, including\r\nproper disposal of unclaimed property and proper handling of evidence.\r\nNOTE:\r\nQualifying education, training, and experience that provide the\r\nrequisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform\r\nthe job will be considered.\r\n\r\n

Special Requirements

Employment is conditioned upon applicants\r\nacquiring and maintaining a valid Alabama driver's license and providing a\r\nMotor Vehicle Record (MVR) from the Department of Public Safety as proof of an\r\ninsurable driving record. \r\n

Kind of Examination
