Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this position exists is to lead the City’s\r\nefforts to secure and manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships,\r\nphilanthropic support, and external funding that enhance citywide programs,\r\nevents, and community initiatives. This position expands the City’s capacity to\r\nleverage public and private resources, reduce reliance on general fund\r\nexpenditures where appropriate, and strengthen long‑term sustainability of\r\npriority projects. The incumbent serves as the primary liaison to corporate,\r\nnonprofit, foundation, and community partners; designs and manages partnership\r\nframeworks; leads cross‑departmental coordination for fundraising and resource\r\ndevelopment; and ensures unified external engagement and consistent\r\nrelationship management across the organization. This classification reports to\r\nthe Chief Administrative Officer or the Mayor’s designee.\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public\r\nAdministration, Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, and four\r\n(4) years of progressively responsible experience in performing work of\r\nconsiderable complexity and responsibility in strategic partnerships,\r\nsponsorship development, philanthropy/fund development, or external resource\r\ndevelopment, including demonstrated success in securing multi‑year commitments,\r\nmanaging complex and diverse partner portfolio, and supporting initiatives with\r\nsubstantial external visibility and organizational impact. Experience leading\r\ncross‑functional efforts or contributing to organization‑wide processes is a\r\nplus.\r\nNOTE: Qualifying\r\neducation, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge,\r\nskills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n
