Department Overview
The Semicustom team in Munich is part of Micron’s global design organization, focused on delivering high‑quality semicustom digital solutions for advanced memory products. The team develops and integrates critical digital blocks that enable performance, power efficiency, testability, and manufacturability across multiple technology nodes.
Role Overview
As a Design Engineer, you will design, implement, and verify digital circuit blocks used in next‑generation memory products. You will work closely with global design, verification, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, scalable, and manufacturable solutions from concept through silicon validation.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement digital blocks (e.g., PLL control logic, BIST, DfT) using semicustom methodologies
* Develop and integrate Place & Route (P&R) blocks, including AI‑enabled P&R features
* Perform RTL, functional, and gate‑level verification to ensure design quality and reliability
* Set up, maintain, and enhance semicustom design flows to improve efficiency and scalability
* Support silicon bring‑up and design validation activities in collaboration with cross‑functional teams
* Create clear technical documentation to support design reviews and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
* 3+ years of experience in RTL design using Verilog or VHDL
* Hands‑on experience with synthesis, timing constraints, and static timing analysis (STA)
* Practical experience with at least 3 of the following tools: Fusion Compiler, Fusion.ai, PrimeTime, NCSim, TCL, Perl
* Ability to collaborate effectively in an international, cross‑functional environment
* Proficiency in written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with semicustom design flows in advanced technology nodes
* Exposure to silicon validation and post‑silicon debug
* Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and scripting for design automation
The base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is:
€76,000.00 - €128,000.00 per year.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the position.
In addition to base pay, the remuneration package also includes: eligibility for a variable plan subject to the personal achievement of objectives and the company's performance, and benefits, which -at the discretion of the company- currently include meal vouchers, corporate welfare, yearly allowance of remote working days, supplementary health insurance, life coverage, Employee Assistance Program.
