Responsibilities

  • Lead a strategic set of enterprise-level business process improvement efforts which are standalone projects or a workstream within a larger project 
  • Support up front scoping of the business process improvement efforts including objectives, measures of success, and resourcing requirements 
  • Coach and support project teams in process mapping, root cause analysis and identifying and prioritizing improvement opportunities  
  • Lead or support the implementation of process improvements 
  • Support business process owners in developing reporting needs and plans for monitoring process effectiveness  
  • Create documentation which can be read and understood by non-experts
  •  Design and execute robust change management, change communications and training 
  • Partner actively with other teams at MidPen that work on talent effectiveness, internal communications and IT and Data Analytics as work is scoped and executed  
  • Consult with department leaders to help them vet and prioritize departmental opportunities for business process improvement, including the integration of AI tools and agents 
  • Serve as a thought partner as work is scoped and advise departmental staff on appropriate tools, templates and methodologies 
  • Provide feedback on materials that are developed by departments, such process maps, monitoring plans or training content to help make those materials easier to understand or use 
  • Recommend new enterprise-level business process improvement opportunities based on work with department leaders and project teams 
  •  Recommend enterprise standards for business process documentation including templates and real-life examples from work at MidPen
  • Recommend options for 3rd party training on business process improvement 

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data 
  • Ability to work in a self-directed, agile manner to balanced competing priorities 
  • Systems thinking with an attentiveness to interdependencies 
  • Demonstrated good judgement in balancing tradeoffs between simplicity, quality and risk 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels from executive to front-line staff  
  • Ability to influence without authority and a sensitivity to interpersonal dynamics 
  • Familiarity with technology systems implementations and requirements documentation 
  • Familiarity with or eagerness to learn about AI tools and agents 
  • Proficient with process mapping techniques and software, such as Visio, Lucidchart or MURAL 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • BA or equivalent experience 
  • At least 8 years of experience in operations including working directly in or supporting both customer-facing functions like sales and customer service and support functions like human resources or accounting 
  • At least 4 years of experience coaching and mentoring others on process improvement  
  • At least 4 years of experience leading projects, process improvement efforts and change initiatives  
  • Industry experience in affordable housing or in another industry with complex regulatory requirements 
  • Project management, process improvement and/or change management certification preferred 
  • Prior experience working in small- to medium-sized organizations preferred 
  • Prior experience supervising staff or contractors preferred 
  • Prior exposure to real estate, property management and the not-for-profit sector preferred 

$104,800 - $117,900 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications
