FinSurance is seeking an experienced senior trade credit insurance producer who can combine high-level underwriting judgment, non-cancellable buyer-limit expertise and deep relationships within the trade credit brokerage community.

FinSurance Group Services, LLC is a specialist, broker-distributed trade credit program administrator (MGU) operating within Mission Underwriters, a multi-program specialty insurance platform supporting approximately 30 programs. FinSurance serves small and middle-market companies together with selected larger and more complex single-obligor and structured trade transactions.

Our products include Single Buyer, Named Buyer and Multi-Buyer, Whole Turnover, Single Invoice, Top-Up, Excess of Loss, Supply Chain Finance, FIBC and lender-oriented structures, quota share, syndicated participation and other structured trade credit solutions.

Insurtech is central to FinSurance's growth strategy. We are building a connected underwriting environment around a reliable system of record, an underwriting decision and authority layer, automated submission intake, document and email ingestion, entity resolution, credit-data enrichment, workflow automation, broker and insured portals, lender visibility, reporting and monitoring.

The Senior Production Underwriter will help turn expert underwriting judgment into scalable technology. You will help define the information required at intake, the data that should drive a decision, the exceptions that require human review and the controls needed to preserve underwriting discipline as volume grows. This is an opportunity to influence both the risks we write and how a modern trade credit platform operates.

This is a production underwriting role, not primarily a portfolio-maintenance or buyer-risk monitoring position. The successful candidate will develop, structure, price and underwrite profitable trade credit business while helping FinSurance broaden and deepen its relationships with specialist trade credit brokers and the trade credit practices of major national and global brokerage firms.

The role will emphasize non-cancellable buyer limits, Single Buyer and Named Buyer risks, larger and more complex credit exposures, Top-Up and Excess structures, structured trade finance, supply-chain finance and other specialty trade credit opportunities.

  • Develop and underwrite profitable new and renewal trade credit business through FinSurance's broker network.
  • Build relationships with specialist trade credit brokers and major brokerage trade credit practices, generating new opportunities and expanding premium production.
  • Evaluate buyer, industry, country, concentration and transaction risk using financial statements, payment history, bureau information, organizational structures, transaction documents and other relevant information.
  • Structure and price non-cancellable buyer limits and trade credit solutions within delegated authority, with attention to tenor, concentration, attachment, indemnity, deductible, exposure and information quality.
  • Underwrite Single Buyer, Named Buyer, Whole Turnover, Top-Up, Excess of Loss and other approved specialty trade credit structures.
  • Distinguish difficult but insurable commercial credit from transactions that are effectively seeking a financial guarantee, performance guarantee, funding guarantee or unconditional credit wrap.
  • Prepare complete and credible referrals for exposures above individual authority and collaborate with senior leadership, carrier and reinsurance partners.
  • Help refine automated intake, document ingestion, entity resolution, credit-data enrichment, decision support, portals, reporting and other Insurtech-enabled workflows.

  • 7+ years of relevant trade credit insurance experience, including substantial direct underwriting responsibility.
  • Direct underwriting experience with a trade credit insurer, specialty carrier, program administrator (MGU) or comparable trade credit underwriting organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, payment experience, liquidity, leverage, profitability, cash flow and working capital in assessing commercial creditworthiness.
  • Strong understanding of trade credit insurance products, buyer limits, policy structures, insured percentages, deductibles, waiting periods and concentration management.
  • Strong understanding of non-cancellable buyer-limit underwriting and the discipline required to assume credit exposure for a defined policy period.
  • Demonstrated independent underwriting judgment within delegated authority and strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Established productive relationships with trade credit insurance brokers and the ability to operate independently in a remote, entrepreneurial environment.

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Single Buyer, Named Buyer, Top-Up, Excess of Loss or other individually underwritten credit exposures.
  • Larger commercial obligors and transactions requiring detailed financial-statement analysis.
  • Supply-chain finance, trade finance, receivables finance, FIBC, lender-oriented structures, syndications or quota-share arrangements.
  • Domestic and international obligors and referrals to carrier or reinsurance partners.
  • Underwriting systems, CRM, policy administration, data vendors, automated intake, entity resolution, decision-support tools or other Insurtech capabilities.

FinSurance offers direct access to senior decision-makers, meaningful underwriting responsibility and the opportunity to work across traditional and specialty trade credit structures rather than being confined to a narrow product silo. The successful candidate will own a meaningful piece of the market, strengthen distribution and help create profitable premium without weakening underwriting discipline.

For an accomplished trade credit underwriter who wants greater autonomy, closer broker engagement, broader exposure to complex transactions and the opportunity to help build scalable underwriting technology, this is intended to be a meaningful career opportunity rather than simply another underwriting seat. Regular travel for broker meetings, industry events and business-development activities is expected.

FinSurance Group Services, LLC is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to legally protected characteristics and in accordance with applicable federal, state and local law.

  • Requires a quiet work environment with regular sitting at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequent talking or hearing.
  • Vision requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, focus and depth perception.
