Position OverviewThe Human Resource Coordinator maintains and enhances the hotel’s human resources operations by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. This role supports hotel leadership and associates by ensuring compliance, fostering a positive work environment, and administering HR‑related programs and services.
Key Responsibilities1. Prepare employees for assignments by coordinating and conducting new‑hire orientation and training programs2. Screen and support the selection of potential employees3. Track and maintain employee training documentation4. Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and employee assistance programs5. Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner6. Maintain job descriptions and update job requirements for all hotel positions7. Establish and support employee recognition programs8. Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment regulations9. Handle employee relations matters, including counseling and exit interviews10. Monitor and support employee evaluation programs11. Nurture and promote a positive working environment12. Coordinate HR projects, surveys, and meetings13. Partner with local agencies and support community service initiatives14. Consult with department leaders to identify staffing needs and preferred qualifications15. Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers16. Coordinate and support the property Safety Committee17. Perform other related duties as assigned
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredTwo‑year degree or higher preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of HR laws, HIPAA, and FMLA preferredBilingual skills preferredStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
Work EnvironmentPrimarily office‑based within the HR departmentFrequent interaction with hotel leadership and associatesOccasional involvement in meetings, training sessions, and hotel events
Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the propertyOccasional lifting of up to 20 poundsAbility to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
