MoonPay is seeking a Manager, KYB Operations to lead the team responsible for onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing compliance review for partners and business customers across MoonPay and its subsidiaries. In this role, you will manage a team of KYB Analysts and own the day-to-day operational performance of the KYB function - from case quality and team productivity, to process improvement and cross-functional coordination. You are accountable for the team meeting KPIs, operating to a high standard, and continuously improving both the overall customer experience and how the work gets done. You will work closely with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Sales teams, and serve as a key escalation point and domain authority for KYB across the organization. This is a great opportunity for an experienced KYB leader to take on meaningful scope and cross-functional influence.
Manage, develop, and hire (as-needed) a team of KYB Operations Analysts, fostering high performance and operational rigor.
Set individual and team KPIs; provide regular reporting and insights on the health of KYB Operations.
Oversee the end-to-end KYB review process for all MoonPay products - ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with policies.
Own QA frameworks for the KYB team; monitor output quality and implement corrective actions where needed.
Own and continuously improve KYB operational workflows, procedures, and documentation while translating compliance policy into clear, scalable operational processes.
Identify and propose improvements to tooling, workflows, and automation, partnering with Product and senior stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and implement changes that reduce handle time and streamline the onboarding experience.
Represent the KYB Ops team in cross-functional forums with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Sales - bringing operational context and team/customer feedback into broader discussions.
Act as the day-to-day domain authority on KYB for the team and adjacent functions - the go-to person for process questions, case escalations, and operational guidance.
Own the operational perspective on new vendor evaluation and integration - partnering with Product and Compliance on the RFP process, piloting capabilities, and translating vendor decisions into operational readiness.
Act as the primary operational interface for Iron (institutional KYB) and partner-facing onboarding - maintaining close relationships with internal stakeholders including Iron, Sales, and the Executive Committee, and ensuring KYB is never the bottleneck to revenue.
The right candidate is an experienced KYB operator who can lead a team with confidence and raise the bar on operational quality. You bring deep domain knowledge, strong instincts for process improvement, and the communication skills to work effectively across a complex stakeholder environment.
You hold a high bar for accuracy and compliance without creating bottlenecks, invest in your team’s development, and bring well-structured thinking to operational problems - not just identifying issues but proposing solutions.
Demonstrated experience managing or leading an operational team, with a track record of driving team performance.
5+ years of experience in KYB, KYC, or AML operations within crypto, fintech, payments, or financial services.
Deep expertise in corporate KYB reviews, including ownership and control structure analysis, UBO identification, and risk assessment.
Strong process design skills — able to translate complex compliance requirements into clear, scalable operational workflows.
Data-driven decision-making; comfortable setting KPIs, analyzing performance trends, and using data to prioritize improvements.
Clear, direct written and verbal communication; able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, external partners, and front-line analysts alike.
Experience working cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to operate at both the strategic and operational level - comfortable in an exec-facing working group one hour and reviewing case quality the next.
Familiarity with crypto, stablecoin, and Web3 business models and the regulatory landscape they operate in.
Experience working with compliance tooling or case management systems in a KYC/KYB context.
Prior exposure to working alongside BPO teams or in a multi-vendor operational environment.
