This is a hands-on role with greater ownership and independence, ideal for someone who enjoys solving more complex problems and turning data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations. Translate data into clear findings and commercially relevant recommendations, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
Independently scope and deliver ad-hoc analysis in response to business questions, with limited oversight.
Identify trends and opportunities proactively, adding value beyond reactive requests.
Apply more advanced analytical techniques where appropriate to produce robust, well-structured outputs.
Build strong working relationships with teams across Trading, Marketing, Product and Finance.
Present insights in a clear, structured and compelling way, adapting communication to different audiences.
Use data confidently to support recommendations and help shape stakeholder thinking and priorities.
Manage multiple requests effectively, communicating timelines and priorities proactively.
Deliver at pace while applying judgement to focus on the work that will create the most impact.
Take responsibility for analysis from problem definition through to insight delivery and follow-up.
Break down ambiguous business problems into clear, independent analytical approaches.
Ensure outputs are accurate, robust and properly validated.
Play an active role in improving dashboards, queries and analytical workflows so they are scalable and efficient.
Work closely with Data Engineering and BI teams to help ensure data is fit for purpose.
Proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting and analytical processes.
Support and guide more junior analysts by sharing knowledge and best practices informally.
Role model strong ownership, curiosity and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Continue to build a deeper understanding of business drivers and how analytics influences performance.
Seek and apply feedback, while contributing constructively to team development.
Help create a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Experience in an analytics, data or similar role, with evidence of increasing ownership and impact.
Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering.
Strong SQL skills and solid experience using Excel and BI tools such as Tableau or similar.
Working knowledge of Python or R would be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to explain data clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
Growing commercial awareness and an interest in how businesses operate and make decisions.
