We're seeking someone to join our Technology Finance & Business Management (TFBM) team as a Vice President in Infrastructure Financial Planning & Analysis to serves as a Senior Finance Business Partner supporting Institutional Securities Technology as well as Finance, Operations, and Risk Technology. The role acts as an integrated finance planning and analysis advisor across these domains, owning the financial treatment and planning outcomes while influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders. In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Vice President level position within the our Financial Planning & Analysis Job Family which is responsible for the firm's budget, forecast, internal management reporting and financial analysis to provide insight into the firm's current and expected financial performance, as well as expense allocation. What you'll do in the role: \- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm \- Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise \- Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area \- Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards \- Help with the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and multi-year plan (collect inputs, track deadlines, and build materials) \- Prepare basic analysis and reports for senior stakeholders (key changes, drivers, and risks) \- Work with global partners to gather updates, check variances, and follow up on open items \- Partner with other arms of finance to ensure proper treatment of labor expense and software capitalization \- Ensure accurate and consistent financial treatment across planning cycles, including expense vs. capital considerations \- Maintain a strong understanding of chargeback and allocation methodologies, partnering with responsible teams to reflect allocations accurately in consolidated plans \- Synthesize complex financial data into clear, executive-level narratives and materials for senior stakeholder consumption \- Collaborate closely with Technology, Finance and Business Management partners to ensure alignment across planning, delivery and financial outcomes \- Collaborate and contribute inputs with corporate FP&A in finance management reporting and analysis What you'll bring to the role: \- Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division \- Strong technical skills \- Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members \- Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks Business & Financial Acumen \- Significant experience in senior finance or business partner roles within complex organizations \- Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate finance principles, and technology cost structures \- Demonstrated experience owning budgets, forecasts, and planning cycles \- Expertise in software capitalization concepts and financial treatment judgment \- Ability to influence and advise Managing Director-level stakeholders Technical & Analytical \- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related financial analysis tools \- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret large and complex datasets \- Experience translating data into actionable insights and executive-ready materials Leadership & Collaboration \- Proven player-coach leadership style with experience managing small, distributed teams \- Strong communication skills across audiences from Analyst to Managing Director \- Ability to operate independently while driving consensus across diverse stakeholder groups \- At least 10 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
