We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Director in Investment Management Operations team with experience in invoice processing, fund accounting, expense management, and financial controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel and automation skills (Alteryx/AI), a solid understanding of private equity fund structures, and the ability to manage stakeholders while driving operational efficiency and process improvement. In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Director level within the Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes. What you'll do in the role: * Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts * Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions. * Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution. * Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations. * Understanding of PE fund structures (LP/GP, Fund of Funds, Co-investments), Capital calls, distributions, management fees, and carried interest. * Managing invoice workflows through accounting/AP platforms and review invoices against contracts, budgets, and approval matrices. * Ability to code and allocate of expenses across funds, entities, and portfolios. Ability to Identify opportunities to automate manual processes within Fund Operations. * Ability to create process dashboards and KPI reporting using Power BI or equivalent tools. * Implement workflow automation and intelligent document processing solutions. * Ensure compliance with internal policies and fund governing documents and Perform control checks on expense allocations and payment approvals. What you'll bring to the role: * At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role * Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures * Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget * Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise * Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you * Experience in private equity/real estate or private equity/real estate fund of funds investment accounting is required. Knowledge of hedge fund accounting and/or derivatives, or experience with Investran, is a plus. * Ability to take a proactive approach to projects and tasks in implementing solutions.
