We are seeking a HR Manager to provide maternity cover for our Singapore branch office for a period of seven months. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of HR operations locally while partnering closely with the global HR team at our U.S. headquarters.

The HR Manager will serve as the key HR partner to local leadership, ensuring effective HR operations, compliance with Singapore employment regulations, and a positive employee experience. The role includes managing a Payroll & Immigration Specialist and driving employee engagement alongside Singapore Site Lead, and leading wellbeing initiatives within the office. This is a hybrid role requiring at least two days in the office each week. Evening meetings with U.S. counterparts are also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR business partner to leadership and employees in the Singapore office.
  • Provide strategic and operational HR advisory on employee relations, performance management, and HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore employment laws and internal company policies.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, HR documentation, and employee records.
  • Manage and provide guidance to the Payroll & Immigration Specialist.
  • Oversee payroll administration and work pass processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., CPF and tax reporting).
  • Partner with the global HR team in the U.S. to align local HR practices with global policies and initiatives.
  • Maintain HR records and support HR reporting requirements to headquarters.
  • Support implementation of global HR programs and policy updates.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives for the Singapore office.
  • Maintain a regular pulse of employees in Singapore.
  • Advocate for the employee engagement needs of Singapore. 
  • Host and plan meaning engagement initiatives when senior leadership visits from the U.S..
  • Organize and manage employee wellbeing initiatives, including wellness workshops and onsite health screening programs for employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a multinational organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment law, payroll practices, and work pass regulations.
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring HR staff.
  • Experience supporting a standalone or branch office environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams across time zones.
