The MSU College of Human Medicine Bachmann laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development is seeking a highly motivated and dependable technical aide to join our research team. This temporary position (maximum 6 months) involves assisting with the collection of mouse tissues and breeding, molecular and biochemical assays as well as cancer cell tissue culture and artificial intelligence (AI)-motivated drug development data evaluations. This will support ongoing scientific studies aimed at advancing our understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders and pediatric cancer.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in mouse breeding and collect/process mouse tissues for molecular and biochemical downstream evaluations (PCR, western blots, HPLC, etc.)
· Assist with mouse behavioral and cognitive studies to determine neurodevelopmental deficiencies
· Follow established research protocols to ensure high-quality data collection
· Perform assisted cancer cell experiments to test novel anti-cancer drugs
· Use AI-based search engines and other computational tools to evaluate large multi-omic datasets
· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team in a professional and positive manner
· Maintain confidentiality and adhere to rigorous ethical standards
· Provide work summary (PowerPoint, other) for weekly lab meetings
Requirements

· Previous experience working with mice, especially conducting behavioral and cognitive studies
· Basis skills on general chemical and biological laboratory practices and successful completion of all MSU-required safety training
