About the Role
The Fleet & Facilities Associate (Overnight) is responsible for supporting fleet readiness, facility operations, and safety compliance during overnight operations, ensuring vehicles, equipment, and facility systems remain maintained, inspected, and operationally ready for next-day use.
Reporting up to the Fleet & Facilities site lead, this is a hands-on role responsible for executing preventative maintenance tasks, completing inspections, supporting repairs, maintaining site organization, and responding to overnight operational issues in real time. This individual serves as the primary overnight escalation and triage point for fleet and facility-related issues, coordinating support for vehicle breakdowns, facility disruptions, and operational needs while helping maintain operational continuity during overnight hours.
- Perform overnight fleet and facility tasks, including maintenance, cleaning, organization, and equipment readiness
- Ensure vehicles are compliant, stocked, clean, and road-ready for next-day operations
- Verify completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks (fluids, wipers, bulbs, fuses, etc.)
- Conduct routine vehicle, equipment, and facility inspections
- Support preventative maintenance programs and complete assigned tasks on schedule
- Assist with warehouse equipment upkeep, including battery charging, tracking, and equipment readiness
- Maintain organization of staging areas, yard space, and shared equipment
- Operate and maintain site equipment such as forklifts, Joeys, and cardboard balers
- Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance needs, or compliance issues
- Assist with coordinating vendors for repairs and maintenance and prepare areas for service
- Report vendor issues or incomplete work to the Site lead
- Serve as the primary overnight escalation point for fleet and facilities issues
- Triage overnight vehicle breakdowns and coordinate towing, vehicle swaps, or emergency repairs as needed
- Communicate operational impacts and urgent issues to Operations and Infrastructure leadership
- Monitor overnight site conditions and address issues related to HVAC, dock doors, gates, lighting, and general infrastructure
- Flag non-urgent issues for daytime follow-up and service scheduling
- Prioritize overnight tasks based on operational risk and next-day readiness requirements
- Support smooth overnight site operations and maintain operational continuity during non-business hours
- Accurately log inspections, defects, maintenance activities, and repairs in systems (e.g., Whip Around)
- Support tracking of vehicle readiness, maintenance tasks, and asset status
- Maintain organization and tracking of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Support inventory management and restock supplies as needed
- Assist in maintaining audit readiness and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company standards
- Support tracking of equipment certifications, training, and operational compliance requirements
- Serve as the onsite safety point of contact during overnight operations
- Follow safety protocols and participate in safety programs
- Report unsafe conditions and support corrective actions
- Respond to and document safety incidents, ensuring proper escalation and follow-up
- Participate in training and certification as required
- Collaborate with the Site lead and Operations teams to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Overnight inspections, maintenance tasks, and operational responsibilities are completed consistently and on time
- Vehicles, equipment, and facilities are clean, organized, compliant, and ready for next-day operations
- Vehicle breakdowns and overnight operational issues are triaged quickly and communicated effectively
- Issues are identified early and escalated appropriately
- System data (inspections, defects, maintenance logs) is accurate and up to date
- Work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards
- Strong overnight operational support is provided to site leadership and Operations teams
Requirements
~1 min read- 1–3+ years of experience in warehouse, fleet, facilities, or operational roles
- Basic understanding of vehicle inspections, maintenance, or facility operations
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, Joeys, etc.) preferred
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Forklift or equipment certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced operational environment
- Overnight operations experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to make real-time decisions
- Comfortable coordinating vendors and communicating operational issues clearly
- Ability to follow processes, complete tasks accurately, and maintain organization
- Comfortable using systems for logging inspections and tasks (e.g., Whip Around or similar tools)
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Must be 21+ years old
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work overnight shifts and operate independently
- Willingness to support occasional schedule flexibility as needed
