This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way Raleigh, NC 27607-- Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services -HS - Social Services-Children's Services.

 

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Job duties include, but may not be limited to:


This position serves as a Placement Support Consultant and dedicates at least 75 percent of its work to direct statewide placement support for local departments of social services serving children and youth in DSS custody. The consultant triages placement support requests, assesses urgency and complexity, identifies placement barriers, and helps counties identify and coordinate potential placement resources.


The consultant works with county DSS agencies, licensed child-placing agencies, child caring institutions, Enhanced Emergency Care (EEC) providers, internal NCDHHS DSS teams, and other partners to support placement planning and resolve barriers. This may include contacting providers regarding availability, admission criteria, referral requirements, service capacity, and other factors affecting placement consideration. The consultant supports county decision-making but does not make placement decisions, direct a provider to accept a referral, or assume responsibility for county placement actions.


The consultant also helps counties consider EEC as one resource within the broader placement continuum. The consultant’s EEC responsibilities focus on placement-related consultation, referral coordination, barrier resolution, and transition planning. 


This is not an after-hours or on-call position.

Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
