Fixed-Term Contract (1 year – Maternity Cover)
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will support the accounting department in daily financial operations.
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, key accountabilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and recording of daily accounting entries, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice posting, monitoring, and follow-up.
- Assist with the execution of payments, monitoring of collections, and preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Organize, maintain, and update accounting files and records in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal company procedures, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
- Review, verify, and process employee expense forms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree/MSc or MBA is a plus)
- 1–3 years of relevant Accounting experience (experience in shipping/maritime is an advantage)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English (a third language is an asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
Skills:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and work. under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- A strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.
