The Manager in this role will be responsible for the direct supervision and management of their delegated staff. The Manager’s team will consist of approximately 15+ direct reports who will support in Transportation activities for a program.
- To manage the transportation operations within the company and ensure that all activities are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- To oversee the daily activities of the transportation team and ensure that they are in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- To provide guidance and support to the team members and identify areas of improvement to enhance their performance.
Responsibilities

- →Manage the delivery of goods and materials to and from company facilities and ensure on-time delivery.
- →Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of transportation equipment and vehicles.
- →Monitor transportation expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
- →Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective communication and coordination of transportation activities.
- →Ensure that the transportation team is properly trained and equipped to perform their duties and maintain a safe work environment.
- →Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers.
- →Conduct performance evaluations for team members and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- →Stay informed of industry regulations and trends, and implement necessary changes to comply with regulations.
- A well-functioning transportation department with efficient and cost-effective processes.
- On-time delivery of goods and materials to and from company facilities.
- Properly maintained transportation equipment and vehicles.
- A safe work environment for the transportation team.
- Maintained and improved relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Trained and motivated team members who are meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
Requirements
~2 min read- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience as defined below, Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience as defined below, or high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience as defined below.
- Relevant experience includes professional and/or military background in transportation operations, supply chain, logistics, engineering, or related field.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a team, process, and/or project
- At minimum, an active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry trends.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
