The Manager of Learning Content leads the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the institution’s academic curriculum. This role requires a strategic leader who collaborates with faculty, administration, and external stakeholders to ensure curriculum alignment with the institution’s mission, educational goals, and accreditation standards.
The Manager fosters an innovative learning environment that promotes academic excellence, learner engagement, and student success. This position is responsible for overseeing team performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cross-functional collaboration to ensure departmental and organizational initiatives are achieved. The ideal candidate brings expertise in nursing curriculum development, backward design (BWD), competency-based assessment, and direct team management. A strong foundation in instructional design, concept-based curriculum development, process management, and innovative learning design is essential.
Responsibilities

- Ensure alignment with accreditation standards, educational best practices, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with Nightingale College Leadership to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and innovative teaching methods.
- Ensure Learning Content team understands concept-based curriculum, backward design, outcome alignment, accreditation standards for programs and courses, and best practices in the use of technology to develop content.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the academic curriculum in alignment with institutional goals.
- Provide leadership in the planning and execution of curriculum initiatives.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify blind spots and risks while proactively ensuring the team remains current on training, best practices, and process improvements.
- Engage with faculty, department heads, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on curriculum initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between Nightingale Innovations and Nightingale College regarding curriculum-related matters.
- Communicate curriculum changes and updates effectively to academic stakeholders.
- Develop processes to keep curriculum changes communicated to all impacted stakeholders.
- Identify and facilitate professional development opportunities for instructional designers in curriculum design and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with Director, Academic Technology, Director, Learning Design and Innovation, Director, EVOLVEU, and Director, Learning Content and Assessment Development to support the curriculum development team in the integration of technology into course development.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Assessment Development and other leadership within Innovations to support curriculum evaluation processes and ensure alignment between curriculum design, learning outcomes, and competency-based assessment strategies.
- Partner with accreditation leadership, including the Senior Manager, Accreditation Liaison Officer, to provide curriculum-related data, documentation, and evidence for accreditation reviews, program evaluations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage the budget for academic curriculum initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Work with the Director of Learning Content and Assessment Development to manage budget planning, expenditures, and resource allocation related to curriculum development and instructional materials, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals.
- Establish and oversee process management practices that support efficient curriculum development workflows, resource utilization, project tracking, and continuous operational improvement.
- Prepare budget proposals and reports for curriculum projects, justifying funding requests based on strategic priorities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field, PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development, or a related area, preferably in higher education.

- Strong understanding of curriculum design principles and instructional methodologies.

- Familiarity with budget management and financial planning in an educational context.
- At least 5 years of direct people management experience, including setting and monitoring KPIs, supporting professional development, managing performance, and leading cross-functional collaboration.
